It’s like: Janice Dickinson‘s life

The Deep End (Dramedy)
Plot: Newbie attorneys at a prestigious law firm
It stars: Billy Zane and Tina Majorino
It’s like: Scrubs or Grey’s Anatomy in a law firm

Eastwick (Drama)
Plot: Three witches come into their powers when a mysterious fellow arrives in town
It stars: Rebecca Romijn, Lindsay Price, Matt Dallas and Sara Rue
It’s like: The John Updike novel and big-screen movie The Witches of Eastwick, on which it’s based

Flash Forward (Drama)
Plot: Sci-fi-ish story about what happens when the world blacks out for two minutes and everyone has visions of the future
It stars: Joseph Fiennes, Sonya Walger, John Cho and Courtney Vance
It’s like: Every show that has employed the unfortunately ubiquitous time travel gimmick on TV recently (i.e. the network hopes it’ll catch on just as Lost unrolls its final season)

The Forgotten (Drama)
Plot: Amateur detectives dedicate themselves to solving the murders of unidentified victims
It stars: Reiko Aylesworth, produced by Jerry Bruckheimer
It’s like: Encyclopedia Brown became a do-gooder adult

Hank (Comedy)
Plot: A hotshot Wall Streeter who has to return to his hometown and reconnect with his family
It stars: Kelsey Grammer
It’s like: Frasier, if his shrink biz had gone belly up

Happy Town (Drama)
Plot: Investigating a murder in a quirky small town
It stars: Geoff Stults, Lauren German, Dean Winters, Amy Acker, Sam Neill and Jay Paulson
It’s like: Twin Peaks

The Middle (Comedy)
Plot: About a Midwestern mom
It stars: Patricia Heaton
It’s like: Everybody Loves Raymond in Ohio

Modern Family (Comedy)
Plot: A dysfunctional fam, led by patriarch Jay (Ed O’Neill), is profiled in this mockumentary

V (Drama)

It stars: Donald Faison, Cedric the Entertainer and John Amos
It’s like: Your dad moonlighting as a weekend cop? Hilarity could ensue

Romantically Challenged (Comedy)
Plot: A slacker and commitment-phobe falls for a single mom
It stars: Alyssa Milano and Eric Christian Olsen
