Channel Surfing – August 27, 2009

All the tube news that’s fit to surf …

– The New York Times reports that Ted Kennedy spent his final days eating ice cream and watching 24 on DVD.

Kate Gosselin continues her pity tour at The View, where she’ll be a guest host on Sept. 14 and 15.

– NBC’s postponing the season two premiere of cop drama Southland until October, to allow more time to create a buzz around the show’s return.

– Remember Real World: San Francisco‘s Rachel Campos? She’s now Rachel Campos-Duffy, having married Real World: Boston‘s Sean Duffy, and she’s written a book about her marriage to another RW-er, her husband’s run for Congress, her failed bid to become a co-host on The View and her decision to be a stay-at-home to their five kids.

– Something to be grateful about today: That you’re not Anne Heche‘s ex-husband. Or David Letterman on the other side of Heche’s uncomfortable Late Show rant about her ex.

– So many TV shows being adapted as movies … add another to the list of movies being adapted into TV shows: Fox is developing a Heathers series.

Chuck/Gossip Girl/The O.C. producer Josh Schwartz is developing a half-hour comedy for CBS, an autobiographical-ish tale of a life with a newly-married, twentysomething couple.

– And tonight in primetime:
