– Fox doesn’t seem to be too upset about Paula Abdul‘s Twitter resignation. They’re already lining up her replacement, which will initially mean celeb guest judges like Victoria “Posh Spice” Beckham and Katy Perry.
– I don’t think Jay Leno is as funny as this writer does, but he did give a great answer when critics asked why he’s so confident about his new primetime talk show: “I’m rich now,” Leno said.
– The Second City comedy troupe will celebrate its 50th anniversary this fall with a reunion in Chicago. Among the group’s alumni: 30 Rock-ers Tina Fey and Jack McBrayer, Martin Short, Stephen Colbert, Dan Aykroyd, John Belushi, John Candy, Steve Carell, Chris Farley, Bill Murray, Mike Myers, Amy Poehler, Gilda Radner, Joan Rivers, Amy Sedaris, Fred Willard, Eugene Levy and Dave Thomas.
– Another day, another daytime soap drama: The Young & the Restless, CBS’ top-rated soap, has been renewed for two years, but the renewal comes with budget cuts that will likely mean cast firings.

– Disappointing news for us Chuck devoted: The show is unlikely to return to NBC’s line-up before March 2010, and possibly not until summer 2010.
– If Paris Hilton‘s guest gig on Supernatural means her character turns out to be a zombie or is permanently obliterated from the universe, I’m in.
– The Usual Suspects director and House producer Bryan Singer is producing a six-hour apocalyptic miniseries for SyFy. And PS, speaking of the former Sci Fi Channel … critics and fans have talked a lot of smack about the name do over, but I dig it. It’s snappier. Plus, I could never remember whether or not the network used a hyphen in “Sci Fi.”
– School of Rock writer Mike White is penning an HBO comedy – Enlightened – that will star Laura Dern as “a formerly self-destructive woman who, after having a spiritual awakening, becomes determined to live an enlightened life, creating havoc at home and work.”
– The Daily Beast goes on a shopping trip with American Idol alum – and recent Tony nominee – Constantine Maroulis, and I have to admit, it makes him seem like less of a tool than he seemed to be during his AI run.
– Gordon Ramsay: Cookalong Live will find the foul-mouthed British chef showing viewers, live and in step-by-step detail, how to cook a three-course meal in an hour.
