Channel Surfing – September 25, 2009

All the tube news that’s fit to surf …

– Early ratings news from Thursday night: The series premiere of FlashForward and the season premiere of Grey’s Anatomy dominated the night. The Jay Leno Show, meanwhile, was far behind the season premiere of The Mentalist and the second hour of the GA premiere.‘s Michael Ausiello reports that House star Jennifer Morrison is leaving her Princeton-Plainsboro post.

– The next workplace comedy on TV: Fox’s Sky Jockeys, about airline workers.

– The CW, meanwhile, is developing a reality series about the stewardesses of Virgin Airlines.

– NBC is getting its drank on with a comedy about two brothers who become millionaires by creating an energy beverage.

– Showtime will air a documentary, with concert footage and interviews, on Bon Jovi on Oct. 24.

– TBS has canceled The Bill Engvall Show after three seasons.

Law & Order: Criminal Intent is getting yet another makeover, and not for the better, I’d argue. Vincent D’Onofrio and Kathryn Erbe are out, Jeff Goldblum and new partner Saffron Burrows are now the stars.

Heidi Pratt is guest co-host on The View on Oct. 1. Wonder if we’ll be able to see Spencer pulling the strings from backstage?

– The next star of The Bachelor will be announced during Dancing With the Stars on Oct. 13.

Another reality show murder?

– And looking for a TV-related weekend project? Re-creating this Star Trek Borg cake should keep you busy for a few days.
