All the tube news that’s fit to surf …
– This is my favorite news story of the week: Tuesday night’s Sons of Anarchy episode beat both The Jay Leno Show and ABC’s The Forgotten in the ratings.
– Survivor host Jeff Probst describes tonight’s episode as one not to be missed.
– Courteney Cox is back on TV in Cougar Town, Matthew Perry and Matt LeBlanc are headed back and now Lisa Kudrow is developing a new sitcom for Showtime. The series will be focus on the gay son in a family of born-again Christians.
– The Weather Channel is going to start airing movies, including, appropriately enough, The Perfect Storm, on Oct. 30.
– NBC is developing a sitcom based on the experiences of a former Wal-Mart employee (I Love You, Beth Cooper star Paul Rust). The infamous People of Walmart Website should provide them with more fodder.
– Entertainment Weekly‘s cover story this week: Glee, which the mag calls “TV’s happiest hour.” Totally agree. And BTW, the first Glee DVD, which will feature the show’s first 13 episodes, hits stores on Dec. 29. And one more bit of Glee news: Neil Diamond is a fan.
– In Treatment hasn’t gotten the ratings or buzz some of its HBO brethren has, but the show will get a third season.
– Whoa. Clark Kent’s BFF, a.k.a. former Smallville-ian Sam Jones, was arrested on suspicion of being a co-conspirator in a major drug deal.
– Everybody loves a good comeback story … could Paul “Pee-wee Herman” Ruebens‘ comeback attempt lead to a Pee-wee’s Playhouse revival?
– Joss Whedon‘s struggling Friday night drama Dollhouse will be yanked from Fox’s line-up for November sweeps.
– Things are shaky in Soapland, but the Days of Our Lives cast is still offering up a chance for fans to meet and greet them at an event in Los Angeles next month.
– Know a bridezilla (or are you a bridezilla?) who’s getting married sometime between November 2009 and May 2010? If yes, WE’s Bridezillas producers want to hear from you about potentially being featured on the show next season. Send ’em an e-mail, with photos of the bride and groom; name/age/contact info/wedding date and budget; and details on why the nominee is a bridezilla.
– Pop star and The Newlywed Game hostess Carnie Wilson is going to star in a reality series for GSN.
– And Jerry O’Connell, a funny guy who should be starring in his own series, will join the cast of his wife’s ABC series Eastwick for a couple of episodes.

Charlie Sheen, Russell Brand and Louis C.K. are getting most of the attention, but I’m most excited that one of the best new shows of last TV season — Wilfred — returns for its second season on FX tonight (10PM ET). Season one of the series ended with a cliffhanger — had Ryan (Elijah Wood) […]
