– Will a father-son build-off lead to a father-son reunion?

Bobby Fischer Against the World
– The doc profiles the late, great chess whiz, including archived interviews with Fischer, who died in 2008, as well as footage of his most famous match, a 1972 victory against the Soviet Union’s Boris Spassky in the World Chess Championship.

9PM | ABC FAMILY – SERIES PREMIERE
Switched at Birth
– Looking for a new drama for summer? Despite a few misses, this is a good one, revolving around two girls who were switched at birth, a fact they find out as teens. One is an artistic girl (Gilmore Girls and The Young & the Restless star Vanessa Marano) raised by a wealthy family, and the other (potential breakout Katie Lecleric) is an athletic girl who was left deaf by a childhood illness. Conflict ensues as the two try to get to know their birth families.

10PM | ID – SERIES PREMIERE
Behind Mansion Walls
– The new series profiles crimes among the wealthy, beginning with a murder mystery in Palm Beach.

Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition
Chris helps Alex, a 23-year-old man who, at 459 pounds, wants to get healthy to fulfill the promise he made to his late mother and set a good example for his younger brothers.

10PM | SHOWTIME
Nurse Jackie
– Coop speeds up his wedding planning, while Jackie finds herself on probation because of the drugs she pilfered from the oncology department.

– Outdoor spaces get Disneyfied in the new series My Yard Goes Disney (8PM, HGTV), including tonight’s series premiere, where two backyards get connected by a train;
Buddy has to build a massive cake that will feed 4,000 people and which has to be delivered to Las Vegas on Cake Boss (9PM, TLC);

– Food Network stars Tyler Florence and Michael Symon are among those who reveal restaurants that prepare specific items better than they do on Best Thing I Ever Ate (10:30PM, Food Network).

11:59PM | ADULT SWIM – 3RD SEASON PREMIERE
Childrens Hospital
– If you have yet to become a devotee of this medical drama spoof that has starred or guest-starred nearly all of the truly funniest people in Hollywood, the third season’s as good a place as any to jump in. The season opener, “Run, Dr. Lola Spratt, Run,” the hospital has a quicksand emergency, but it happens on a weekend, when, of course, the doctors are MIA. Sy (Henry Winkler) tries to assemble them all, but Dr. Lola (Erinn Hayes), the resident trapped-in-quicksand expert, has a tough time getting there. Also, no spoilers on the specifics, but Jon Hamm makes another cameo.

8PM | NGC
Death of a Mars Rover
– NASA Rovers Spirit and Opportunity landed on Mars in January 2004 and were supposed to stay there for 90 days. But the duo lasted for seven years and collected some invaluable info along the way. This is their “True Hollywood Story“-ish special.

8:30PM | ESPN
National Spelling Bee Finals
– It’s the championship rounds of the 84th annual event. Last year’s winning word: stromuhr.

10PM | A&E
The First 48: Missing Persons
– The First 48 spin-off follows the missing persons unit of the Chicago police department, beginning with a search for a missing college student and a gang member who went MIA after a drug deal.

10PM | NBC – SERIES PREMIERE
Love Bites
– This anthology series was originally scheduled for the 2010-11 season, but, well, you’ll see why it didn’t quite make the cut. In tonight’s opener, the most interesting installment revolves around a married man (Lost‘s Greg Grunberg) who’s given permission by his wife to have sex with his fantasy celebrity, Jennifer Love Hewitt. Then, he meets up with the real JLH on an airplane and makes an indecent proposal …

10PM | TLC – SERIES PREMIERE
NY Ink
Ami James, from Miami Ink, realizes his dream of opening his own tattoo parlor in NYC.

10PM | BRAVO
Real Housewives of New York City
– As the women continue their adventure in Morocco, LuAnn has problems with a camel, but the big drama comes when Jill and Ramona finally decide to have it out.

– After winning the season opener, the team faces problems when both its quarterbacks struggle on 4th & Forever (9PM, Current);

The Real World: Las Vegas
– The last few seasons have been tired, but you can’t say the show’s return to Vegas has been without major drama. Neither, of course, will the season end without a big dose of hubbub with the roomies.

The World According to Paris
– Is this new reality series another attempt to make you think Paris Hilton is famous for something other than being famous? Yes. Is it successful? That’s your call. But, no.
