- Among the TV shows that will host panels at the San Diego Comic-Con in July: Chuck, Dexter, Dollhouse, Lost, MythBusters, Psych, True Blood, Supernatural and Smallville.

- There may be no such thing as a free lunch, but there are free TV comedy episodes to watch while you’re noshing. Thanks to Sitcoms Online.com for the heads up about iTunes’ summer sale, which includes free episodes of Arrested Development, Reno 911! and The State, 99-cent eps of The Office, 30 Rock and The Larry Sanders Show, and, best of all, the entire five-episode first season of The State for $3.96.

- Fox has announced its fall 2009 premiere dates, kicking off its season on Sept. 16 with Glee and (another) new season of So You Think You Can Dance.

- Speaking of SYTYCD, why would Katie Holmes be performing on the show? Right? Yet, the rumor persists that she’ll be shaking her moneymaker on a July episode.

- American Idol season five vet, and one of the show’s most successful artists, Chris Daughtry, talks about his second album, which will be released on July 14.

- America’s Got Talent kicks off next week on NBC (June 23, (9PM ET), but will the show find its own Susan Boyle? Even though the Internet sensation was the runner-up on the latest season of Britain’s Got Talent, she’s reportedly earning more than $160,000 for a 12-minute performance at corporate events. In comparison, former President Bill Clinton gets between $140,000-150,000.

- NPH – Neil Patrick Harris, of course – is going to be a villain called The Music Meister in a fall episode of Cartoon Network’s Batman: The Brave and the Bold. Wouldn’t he be great in the next big-screen Batman, too …

- Gossip Girl is the big TV nominee at this year’s Teen Choice Awards.

- Heidi Pratt says Al Roker made her cry. So does dry shampoo … in other words, what doesn’t? Did being chastised by Whoopi Goldberg also make her shed tears?

- Dave Letterman apologizes, again, for the Palin jokes on tonight’s Late Show.

- Heroes star Sendhil Ramamurthy will guest star in the upcoming “Bollywood Homicide” episode of Psych, which premieres (not soon enough) its fourth season on Aug. 7.

- The Eminem/Bruno (Sacha Baron Cohen) brouhaha from the MTV Movie Awards got all the press, but how deliciously campy was it when Kristin Cavallari showed up at Spencer and Heidi’s wedding wearing the exact same color dress as her old Laguna Beach enemy Lauren Conrad on last night’s ep of The Hills?

- More Hills news: The stars of the show are upset that Paris Hilton called their show fake. Insert your own joke here about the pot calling the kettle fake.

- BTW, the winners at last night’s Andy Samberg-hosted MTV Movie Awards included Heath Ledger for Best Villain and waaaaaay too many popcorn statues for the Twilight cast.

- Wanna guarantee yourself a reality TV deal? Apparently fertility drugs, and a heaping side dish of crazy, are the answer. As creepy as she is, Octomom Nadya Suleman has signed a deal to film a series starring her brood, though no American network has agreed to air it. Yet. Meanwhile, did you know that she actually likes the Octomom nickname, so much so that she’s trying to trademark it?

- Bob Saget’s Surviving Suburbia couldn’t survive the summer TV line-up. Better Off Ted, meanwhile, will get some summer lovin’ from ABC, as the quirky comedy rejoins the line-up on June 23.

- Susan Boyle losing Britain’s Got Talent … as shocking as Adam Lambert losing American Idol?

- Ray Romano talks about his upcoming dramedy, how he thinks Jay Leno’s new show will do and about what he watches on TV. Hint: Lots of reality stuff and 24.

- And speaking of 24, Freddie Prinze Jr. as a wannabe Jack Bauer and now Forrest Gump’s Mykelti Williamson as the new Bill Buchanan on the next season of 24 … it’s almost sounding like a whole new show, isn’t it?

- Did AT&T help Kris Allen win American Idol? Allegedly so.

- Everyone loves a good case of schadenfreude, but it makes you wonder just how insufferable Jon and Kate Gosselin are that no one seems to be coming to their defense these days, don’t it? BTW, nearly 10 million viewers watched the season five premiere of Jon & Kate Plus 8 … again, schadenfreude. I wonder how far that number will drop for next week’s new episode, especially since the premiere made it pretty clear that the Gosselins can barely stand to sit next to each other on a couch.

- As the New York Daily News points out, the Gosselins are hardly the only exploiting their children for reality TV dollars.

- Jessica Simpson just isn’t going to go away, and TV may be helping that.

- Whoa … Is Susan Boyle really a potty mouth?

- If you doubt The Big O’s influence, tune in Thursday night for CNBC’s The Oprah Effect (9PM ET), a special that delves into how just a mention on her show can mean the difference between a business thriving and filing for bankruptcy.

- Hoo-ah! Al Pacino’s headed to the tube, playing suicide doc Jack Kevorkian in an upcoming HBO movie.

- 24, which begins production on season eight today (yay!), has added another pair of new cast members, including Kissing Jessica Stein star (and girlfriend of Mad Men star Jon Hamm) Jennifer Westfeldt.

- And, there’s plenty of serious TV business to talk about today, but for some comic relief, and just plain old fun summer TV watchin’, you can’t beat tonight’s return of Wipeout (ABC, 8PM ET) and The Big Red Balls.

- Good idea: Guitar Hero may become a TV series. That’s definitely one way to potentially get a younger demo back to the tube.

- Tough Love will be back for another season on VH1.

- Mel Gibson, Lyle Lovett, Sarah McLachlan, Prince, Billy Crystal and Dwight Yoakam are among Jay Leno’s guests for his final week as host of The Tonight Show. He’ll announce his very last guest during a press conference on May 14.

- Can’t wait for next week’s Real Housewives of NYC reunion, where there will be verbal smackdowns aplenty.

- OK, maybe there is a reason to watch the fifth season debut of Jon & Kate Plus 8 on May 25: Reportedly, the duo will address those rampant infidelity stories during the premiere.

- Will Kiefer Sutherland’s alleged headbutting incident mean more jail time, and a possible delay in production on the next season of 24, for the star? I’m waiting to hear his side of things.

- ABC has launched a new Music Lounge, where you can hear tunes that are featured in the network’s shows, like Grey’s Anatomy, Ugly Betty and Scrubs. Here’s hoping all the networks jump on that idea – I don’t even know how many songs I’ve bought on iTunes after hearing them in an episode of Scrubs.

- Aisha Tyler is the latest D-lister to sign on to host a talk show pilot.

- Britain’s Got Talent and Internet sensation Susan Boyle will appear on Monday’s Oprah, with Simon Cowell.

- Major Charles Winchester, a.k.a. M*A*S*H star David Ogden Stiers, has outed himself.

- And, despite recent hints that she may be, NPH says Stella (Sarah Chalke) isn’t the mother of Ted’s children on How I Met Your Mother.
