Channel Surfing – April 29

Channel Surfing – April 29

All the tube news that’s fit to surf …

– Huge buzzkill: Cartoon Network is airing the series finale of one of the most delightful TV ‘toons ever, Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, on May 3.

– A cool tribute to Bea Arthur, with video clips. BTW, both WE and the Hallmark Channel will air Golden Girls marathons on Memorial Day.

Rick Springfield on Californication? I’m in.

The Hills will go on, sans Lauren Conrad, next season. That means the conversations could be two to three percent less intelligent.

– For those needing a healthy dose of ’80s angst, thirtysomething is finally coming to DVD.

– I envy the fools who got to meet Mr. T when he served jury duty in Illinois.

– You’d think a dude with eight kids and a, um, prickly, wife wouldn’t be able to find time for extracurricular activities, but US Weekly is claiming in a cover story that Jon & Kate Plus 8 dad Jon Gosselin was caught cheating on wife Kate. Again.

– Kudos to People magazine for choosing cool Samantha Who? star Christina Applegate as the cover for the mag’s “100 Most Beautiful” issue after her breast cancer battle that resulted in a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery.

– Is one of USA’s best shows about to become “UNBurnED Notice”?

– Sci Fi Wire has the scoop on a few fun Easter eggs in next week’s J.J. Abrams reboot of Star Trek.

Howie Mandel will host GSN’s Game Show Awards special on June 6. Would’ve gone with Regis, myself.

Chuck creator Josh Schwartz is promising that if the show returns next season, so will Jeffster!.

– And Lil Rounds is whining that the judges are responsible for getting her booted from American Idol. Not the fact that she was incredibly overrated to begin with and never came close to living up to the hype.

Talkin’ With … ‘Wilfred’ Star Jason Gann About Season 2

Charlie Sheen, Russell Brand and Louis C.K. are getting most of the attention, but I’m most excited that one of the best new shows of last TV season — Wilfred — returns for its second season on FX tonight (10PM ET). Season one of the series ended with a cliffhanger — had Ryan (Elijah Wood) […]
