No More Fake Phone Numbers on TV?

You know how the phone numbers in TV shows and movies almost always begin with the very fake “555” exchange? There’s a new company – We’ve Got Your Number – that does nothing but provide real phone numbers for TV and movie productions.

Having non-555 numbers will add an extra little bit of reality to scripted shows, and, if producers and network marketing teams are as clever as the 24 gang, they’ll see it’s also an opportunity to connect with fans.

Most 24 fans know about the 24 fan phone. The (real) phone number 310-597-3781 was used as Jack Bauer’s (Kiefer Sutherland) cell phone number on the show, and viewers who’ve called it have sometimes been lucky enough to reach a production crew member and even series co-star Carlos Bernard on occasion. Jack’s cell phone is so popular with 24 fans that it even inspired its own MySpace page.

And yes, the cell phone number is still active … go ahead, give it a try.
