– Ron Howard‘s back with another TV comedy: The Arrested Development producer is working on a workplace comedy set at the Internal Revenue Service and written by The Office director/writer Brent Forrester.
– No surprise: The audience for the second night of The Jay Leno Show was down 34 percent from Monday’s premiere.
– The Sept. 23 episode of Dancing with the Stars will include a tribute to Patrick Swayze.
– You just knew nothing good could come out of The View having Kate Gosselin as a guest co-host: E! Online reports that she may get her own View-ish talk show, along with … Paula Deen?!
– Now this makes perfect sense: Betty White will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Screen Actors Guild at the SAG Awards ceremony on Jan. 23.
– President Obama is hitting late night as the sole guest on the Sept. 21 episode of The Late Show with David Letterman.
– Star Trek actor George Takei and his husband, Brad Altman, will be the first-ever gay couple to appear on The Newlywed Game. The show’s new season kicks off on Oct. 12.
– The A-Team big-screen movie update: District 9 star Sharlto Copley is Murdoch, Patrick Wilson is a CIA agent and Jessica Biel is an ex-girlfriend of Bradley Cooper‘s Faceman.
– The Devil’s moving into the Dollhouse: Reaper star Ray Wise is joining the cast of Joss Whedon‘s Fox series.
– FX is airing a sneak preview of its animated spy spoof, Archer, at 10:30 on Thursday, after the season five premiere of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. The show will launch its first season on the network in January.
– The Real Housewives of Orange County, the show that started it all, premieres its fifth season on Nov. 5.
