53rd Annual Grammy Awards – Movie awards shows can drag on forever, but think of this annual music kudosfest as more of a concert. On the star-packed bill: Justin Bieber, who performs with Usher and Jaden “Karate Kid” Smith, Mick Jagger, Barbra Streisand, Rihanna with Drake, Eminem, Lady Gaga, Cee Lo Green, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry and Lady Antebellum. Statues will be doled out, too, of course, with Eminem leading all contenders with 10 nominations, followed by Mars with seven and Jay-Z, Gaga and Lady Antebellum with six each.

9PM, SAT | HBO
The Sunset Limited – Tommy Lee Jones directs, executive produces and co-stars in this adaptation of Cormac McCarthy‘s play about an atheist professor (Jones) who tries to commit suicide, and the religious ex-con (Samuel L. Jackson) who saves him.

Saturday Night Live – Russell Brand hosts, Chris Brown performs … Bad boys, bad boys, whatcha gonna do?

Big Love – The show’s final season is at the halfway mark after this episode, in which Bill battles with the Mormon church for his Senate goals, Cara Lynn’s adoption hits a snag and Lois tries to rewrite the truth about her marriage to Frank.

Desperate Housewives – Mike investigates whether Zach was involved in Paul’s shooting, but more importantly, J.R. Ewing guest stars again!

Family Guy – When he and Brian create a ruckus in a movie theater, Peter and the pooch are ordered to attend AA meetings, but they don’t really take with Peter.

– Mayor Booker kicks off his reelection campaign on Brick City (Sun., 8PM, Sundance);
– On The Simpsons (Sun., 8PM, Fox), a lonely Valentine’s Day sends Moe on the prowl to meet women, with Homer as his wingman (D’oh!);
– On Californication (Sun., 9PM, Showtime), a naughty photo of Hank may land him in even more hot water, and without an attorney;

Looking for a TV-related road trip as we head into the last week before Halloween? This may be one of the coolest unofficial TV tie-ins ever: The Connors Farm’s Family Guy corn maze featuring Stewie and Brian Griffin.

The maze, open through November 1 at the Danvers, Massachusetts farm, was sparked by Connors Farm owner Bob Connor‘s love of the show, and he’s even hoping Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane, who has relatives in the area, might visit the seven-acre maize maze.

The Connors Farm is also hosting Halloween costume parties on Oct. 30 and 31 … the perfect place to wear a Stewie Griffin costume, no?

Plot: Christopher Chance (Keen Eddie and Fringe‘s Mark Valley) is a freelance security agent who assumes his clients’ identities, thus making himself the “human target”

It’s like: The DC Comics series of the same name

– Past Life (Drama)
Plot: A psychologist and former cop try to help people solve mysteries about their past lives
It stars: Richard Schiff (The West Wing) and comedian Ravi Patel
It’s like: A series you’d imagine Shirley MacLaine pitching

– Sons of Tucson (Comedy)
Plot: A charming grafter is hired by three brothers to act as their dad when their real father is in jail for a white collar crime

It’s like: In the spirit of The Slums of Beverly Hills, according to buzz

All the tube news that’s fit to surf …

– I love me some Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick), but New York magazine is crediting Monday night’s episode of Gossip Girl with coining the phrase “fauxialite,” and it’s simply not true. I interviewed The Real Housewives of New York City star Bethenny Frankel back in February, and she used the phrase back then.

– HBO is officially moving forward with Treme, the post-Katrina New Orleans drama from The Wire‘s David Simon and Eric Overmyer, and starring The Wire‘s fantastic Wendell Pierce. The show will begin filming in the fall in New Orleans, after hurricane season.

– Meanwhile, Peter Dinklage will star in another HBO series, Game of Thrones, a fantasy series based on author George R.R. Martin‘s Songs of Fire and Ice novels. And another alum of The Wire, Tom McCarthy, will direct the pilot. McCarthy, an actor/writer who penned The Station Agent, starred in the final season of The Wire as Stephen Glass-ish newspaper reporter Scott Templeton.

– The Office star/writer Mindy Kaling has signed a deal to create her own series for NBC. She’s incredibly talented, but can’t say I’m sad about the prospect of there eventually being a Kelly Kapoor departure from Dunder Mifflin Scranton.

– Seth MacFarlane says a big-screen Family Guy movie will happen … someday.

– Leonard Nimoy – as Spock – will deliver the top 10 list on Letterman Thursday night (May 7).

– Elizabeth Edwards‘ interview with Oprah airs tomorrow, giving us all the final bit of proof we need that John Edwards is officially one of the bigger douchebags in history.

– CBS is considering remakes of Let’s Make a Deal and The Dating Game to replace The Guiding Light. Still can’t believe that show’s being canceled. Sniffle, sniffle.

– Farrah’s Story, a two-hour documentary chronicling Farrah Fawcett‘s battle with cancer, will air on NBC on May 15.

– Jay Leno‘s promising to be funny in a promo for his new 10PM timeslot next season. I so doubt that will happen, and hope this experiment, which really only means there’s even less room for quality scripted shows now, is a short-lived one at NBC.
