Bob Saget will star in an A&E travel reality series, Bob Saget’s Strange Days, in which he travels around America with groups of people like biker gangs, mail order brides and Rumspringa-ing Amish teens.

Gilmore Girls creator Amy Sherman-Palladino, who is developing a new mother/daughter/sister drama for HBO, says she hasn’t given up on the idea of a Gilmore movie. Ohpleaseohpleaseohplease let it happen.

Justin Theroux is joining the cast of Parks and Recreation – a series that continues to grow on me this season – as a potential love interest for Amy Poehler‘s Leslie, while Poehler says her real-life hubby, Arrested Development star Will Arnett, may guest star on her show this season.

Chris Elliott will star in Cartoon Network’s upcoming live-action comedy Eagleheart, where he’ll play a has-been action movie actor who’s now starring on a TV series and making life heck for those around him.

– I’ve resisted all things vampire-related at the movies and on TV, but The Vampire Diaries does sound kinda guilty-pleasure fun, which may make The CW’s 10-episode Diaries marathon – the week of Dec. 14, two episodes a night – must-TiVo-TV.

– You loved mixed tapes, now you can make a mixed DVD, full of Adult Swim shows.

Sopranos alum Lorraine Bracco will play Angie Harmon‘s mom in TNT’s upcoming crime drama Rizzoli, which, surprisingly enough, is not taking place in the famous NYC bookstore.

– USA has signed a deal to keep WWE’s Raw on the network through 2014, even as Vince McMahon looks to launch his own WWE network.

– So you think you can cook? Gordon Ramsay is looking for wannabe chefs of every experience level to star with him on the Dec. 15 Fox special Gordon Ramsay: Cookalong Live.

– So you think you can dance your patootie off, literally? Oxygen is looking for contestants for season two of its weight loss/dance reality show Dance Your Ass Off.

– And tonight in primetime: Merry Madagascar (8PM ET, NBC) reunites the entire cast of the Madagascar movies, as they try to help an injury-plagued Santa and get themselves back to the Big Apple; The Prisoner remake miniseries wraps with back-to-back episodes (8 and 9PM, AMC); Ryan recruits people to help take on the Visitors on V (8PM, ABC); The Big Gunn, a.k.a. Tim Gunn, helps The Biggest Loser (8:30PM, NBC) contestants with makeovers; She’s back, and not a moment too soon to save this lame remake from itself: Heather Locklear brings Amanda Woodward to the new Melrose Place (9PM, The CW); John Mayer is live in concert on Fuse (9PM), as he celebrates the release of his new CD Battle Studies with a performance at the Beacon Theater in NYC (I’m so there); Just when SAMCRO averted the disaster of Jax leaving the club, another drama pops up: Opie finds out Tig’s secret on Sons of Anarchy (10PM, FX); and on The Hills (10Pm, MTV), Jayde and Kristin throw down when Jayde decides she wants to get back together with Brody.

– The Reno 911! crew – some of them, at least – are heading back to the tube, in a new NBC sitcom Reno stars Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant are writing, producing and starring in.

Gilmore Girls creator Amy Sherman-Palladino is writing and producing a new dramedy for HBO. The show will revolve around three sisters 0 who are all writers and live in the same building – and their mother, a “literary lioness” who plays favorites with the sisters’ loser brother. Sounds like another show that will prove why TV is the best place for actresses to go these days.

– Nov. 17: The day Heather Locklear joins the new Melrose Place and maybe, maybe, the show becomes worth watching.

– Coming up on a very special SpongeBob SquarePants: The big yellow spongy lunk gets married.

– We Chuck fans want our favorite Nerd Herd-er and his cohorts back on the tube ASAP, but TV critic Alan Sepinwall makes some fine points about why an early Chuck return could actually spell doom for the show, which fans worked so hard to save last spring.

American Idol season four winner Carrie Underwood is hosting a holiday variety special on Fox on Dec. 7. Brad Paisley, Dolly Parton and another AI winner, David Cook, will appear on the show.

Friends star Matthew Perry is returning to primetime, where he’ll star as a 40-something sports arena manager in a mid-life crisis in a Showtime comedy he’s co-writing.

Mad Men‘s Mrs. Don Draper, a.k.a. January Jones, is the new GQ cover girl, and she tells the mag that former boyfriend Ashton Kutcher once told her she didn’t have the talent to make it as an actress.

Weekly World News: The TV show? I’m only surprised it took this long.

– A&E is planning a new drama about an LAPD detective (Finding Neverland star Radha Mitchell) who is bipolar, and has to choose between being healthy or being a good cop … turns out that she’s a brilliant detective, but only when she doesn’t take her medicine.

Fat Actress and Best Week Ever funny chick Rachael Harris and Spin City star Alan Ruck are headed to Cougar Town.

– A Glee soundtrack hits stores on Nov. 3, and a Glee tour hits theaters next spring?

– Another big November sweeps event: A crossover between all three CSI series.

– The second season of Sundance Channel’s Spectacle: Elvis Costello with … premieres on Dec. 9 and will include guests like Sheryl Crow, Lyle Lovett and Ray LaMontagne.

– And despite its low ratings, its DVR numbers are saving Dollhouse. For now, anyway.
