Yes, the sixth season of the Comedy Central gem just ended – the season finale aired on July 8 – and it’s already out on DVD. More good news: TV Screener.com has three copies of Reno 911! The Complete Sixth Season – Uncensored (Paramount Home Entertainment) to give away to our readers!
The season is another good one from the Reno crew, even though three deputies – Garcia (Carlos Alazraqui), Clemmie (Wendi McLendon-Covey) and Kimball (Mary Birdsong) – perished (apparently) in the season five finale. Two new officers, Deputy Frank Rizzo (The State alum Joe Lo Truglio ) and Sergeant Jack Declan (Upright Citizens Brigade co-founder Ian Roberts), replaced them, and wackiness continued to ensue as the Reno Sheriff’s Department went up against serial killers, swingers, citizens buying illegal knock-offs of toys, roller-skating male prostitute Terry (Nick Swardson) and, of course, political correctness in any form.
Among the season’s best episodes:
– “VHS Transfer Memory Lane” – in which an old videotape provides hilarious insight into the gang’s relationship history, including a revelation about Wiegel (Kerri Kenney) and Dangle (Thomas Lennon) that should delight every fan of the show
– “Deputy Dance” – guest-starring The Office‘s Craig Robinson as a local director who takes the Sheriff’s Department’s cash to make a recruitment commercial
– “Dangle’s Murder Mystery” – a two-parter that awkwardly and hilariously reunites Dangle with his formerly obese ex-wife Deb (Rachael Harris)
– “Deputy Dance” – which finds Terry getting in trouble when he tries to use visual aids to put on a puppet show while reading Moby Dick to kids at the library
– And “Wiegel’s Couples Therapy,” the season finale, in which Wiegel appears to start a surprising new relationship with a co-worker
The DVD set, which includes all 15 season six installments, also features cast commentary (as fans know, they can’t not be funny), outtakes (ditto) and “Profiles in Valor” of new Reno team members Rizzo and Declan.

Charlie Sheen, Russell Brand and Louis C.K. are getting most of the attention, but I’m most excited that one of the best new shows of last TV season — Wilfred — returns for its second season on FX tonight (10PM ET). Season one of the series ended with a cliffhanger — had Ryan (Elijah Wood) […]
